Medium gold lemon colour , deeper than expected for age . Floral at first with white flowers , rosewater , then lemon rind , tangerine and acacia honey . On the palate more of the citrus fruits , tangerine , lemon and orange rind , quite decadent fruit , with good balance from high acidity , moreish too . After a while touches of ginger , spiced grapefruit and rose water . Good length, with a slightly honied richness , acacia and a slightly smoky , wet stone notes on the finish . This is still quite primary and fruit driven , will continue to improve over the next 5-10 years and last another 10

Dec 26th, 2023Yellow gold colour , pretty intense . Quite rich and rounded yellow fruits , touch of citrus peel , rosewater and musk . In the mouth quite rich fruits again , ripe yellow plum , pineapple , orange peel , lemon oil, touch of mint and grapefruit. Long and very balanced on the finish and pretty satisfying orange peel richness . Lovely intensity and energy . Drinking well now , but can go and improve over the next 10 years .

This was the last wine of the day it came after Burgundy, Bordeaux , Syrah, Cab franc , Eiswein, Auslese and somehow this erased them from my palate memory. In this case Muller was not a winemaker but a magician. He managed to make every attribute contained in this wine stand up and shout but never allowed a single component to hog the spotlight. If I got rid of all my wine except this would I be unhappy?, honestly I have to think about it.
