Ornbaun Mendocino Ridge Syrah

84% Syrah with some Grenache, Mourvèdre and Viognier. 50% whole cluster, neutrally oak. Straight up cool climate Syrah character, even with the G&M. Brambles and dark berries. Savory characters and spiciness hit the palate first. A slight citrus acidity (cool climate Grenache my guess) comes through, white pepper, olive tapenade, tart red and blue fruit. Quite lovely - wishing for just a tad more mid-palate to round it out a bit, but a pretty wine that should be intriguing with age.
