Glorious though a BABY! Please don’t do what I did. Wait! 5 yrs minimum.

We had a vertical of 2014 and 2016 on 3/29/24. Two years prior, both were good. Not now. The 2014 was well past prime. 2016 was a better vintage and still drinkable but really not good. Quite disappointing.

Full bodied with crunchy fruit and a very fresh and focused finish. Got a bit of a rustic feel to it, but in a good way. Berries, potting soil, licorice, orange blossom, herbs. Still on the young side.

Blackberry, coffee, red currant.

Ripe fruit, dark brooding fruits, soft tannins, so young but fun fruits and some secondary notes starting to develop.

We had the 2016 vintage with the 2014 on 6/11-12/22. We had a vertical tasting. 2014 vintage is rated 85; 2016 rated 93. The earlier vintage was more fruit forward; the latter a bit earthier. The 2016 had some tannins that needed to be smoothed out with aeration. Two good wines.

Lovely with cheese and red meats.Will definitely get better with age.
