Tasted blind. Sight: slightly cloudy deep wine purple core going garnet with orange highlights and clear meniscus, 10-15 years old. Fairly high alcohol. Nose: old world funk and secondary bottle bouquet. Smells like older Burgundy but the color is very extracted for Pinot Noir. Perhaps a very good year, producer, or both. Taste: very fresh red raspberry with slightly earthy overtones at the finish. Fruit character rules out Sangiovese, Gamay, Tempranillo. Going with a very good producer of Burgundy from the 2005 or 2002 vintage. I'm not good enough to say Nuits or Beaune. I could drink this wine all day.
