Is this thing still on? Christmas tree decorating wine. Black cherries, raspberries, & punchy herbs. Still very much closed for business.

2/2022. Nice red Rhône. Bold, smooth and easy to drink. Paired well with the meatloaf.

Medium-deep garnet colour. Discrete nose with notes of cassis, sour cherries, raspberries, tobacco and wet hay. Medium body with medium acidity and smooth tannins. On the palate, notes of blackberries, plum sauce, some ripe red fruits, pipe tobacco and a little bit of earthiness. Very smooth velvety long finish with more dark plum and a touch of vanilla.

A bit of overripened fruit (date and plum), really beautiful flavor that isn't too assertive but very present. Mouthfeel is right where I want for a wine like this, finish is a hair dry, but the barrel character shines through. One of the best French reds I've had recently.
