Mmm. Earthy leads--mineral, some kind of stone, but also like a pinotage-esque rubber--with fennel. But opens up to bright, fresh red fruit. This is way young and lots of moving parts that should come together as it ages. Excited about the future.

Nice nose of red fruit, raspberry and a certain earthy and mineral side to the nose as well as the palate. The wine is medium bodied, nice tannins and that tart red fruit on the finish. Very nice Villages without being the most profound wine. 89-90 pts
Un nez de fruits rouges, framboises surtout, un peu minéral au nez comme en bouche, qui est assez fine avec ce petit fruit acidulé surtout en finale, des tannins assez approchable et un bel équilibre d’ensemble, par contre, rien de transcendant ou de bien profond mais agréable à boire. Un assez bon Chambolle Villages dans l’ensemble. 89-90
