A beguiling nose dominated by...liquid sandalwood (???) and cedar oil. With air, other spices seem to be represented, but again in a juicy and not the least dried or spice powder way: rosemary, cardamom....Roses lurking below as I nose it out. Something is fruit here but it’s hard to separate out. Good texture on the palate with more dark cherry fruit coming up mid palate. Classic spicy volnay finish. Transparent and correct; not the least bit rustic

Spicy, jammy nose. Warm, spicy stewed fruit on the palate, with a light body and hints of vanilla. Forest floor, mushroomy earth. Decent acidity. A bit of bitter grape skin and raspberry rounds out the experience.

Wonderful wine with family and an amazing 12 course meal. Went very well with the lobster.
