2009: (different bottle in pic) smoky, tobacco, graphite. Meaty powerful style. Full bodied, meaty, very grainy, big. Very ashy, tobacco, smoky.

Actually 2013: 90% Grenache, topped up with Syrah & Mouvevdre. More closed, and jammy. Powerful, tannic, needs time.

True Chatteneauf du Pape. Inky, full bodied, high alcohol. Very tannic. Smells of raisins, blackberry, leather. Tons of tobacco. Got peppery as it opened up but less than most Rhones. Taste is figs, raisins. Complex. Magnificent.
