Big, grapey nose but with gorgeous black olive, green olive, blackberry, wet earth, granite and violets Gorgeous aromas and so very precise. Meaty as well and the clarity is lights out. Like I am very impressed. Haven’t tasted this estate in 20 years maybe. Palate is ripe and energetic with great acidity and lovely tannins. So refined and elegant. Lots of olive juice and blackberry fruit. Killer inner mouth aromas and wonderful juiciness and balance. Finished with really intense granitic snap and formidable but ripe and beautiful tannins. Wonderful wine. A modern, but not oaky or extracted take on Cornas. A lot to like here. Let’s see what air brings. Now after air the herbs come out on the nose and they are stunning. Palate is getting silkier. Good grip and length. Gaining finesse and it’s just so complete. 9.5 to 9.6 with air.
