I paid 40 dollars for this wine; it was a different world then. What a stunning btl, especially factoring in the price. On the nose, this is supremely elegant with loads of primary red berry fruit, soft brambly notes, and a soft, heavenly perfume of vanilla, mixed with musk. On the palate, perfect acid/density balance. This shows not rustic at all: the tannins are suave and the finish is downright sexy.
