On this Friday I have decided to open a white blend from the Armagnac region of France. The blend is made up of Colombard, Ugni Blanc and Gros Menseng. Colombard and Ugni Blanc are normally used in the making of Brandy and this region is known for its brandy and not it's wine. I thought I would give it a try.

The nose gives me white flowers, peach, nectarine, and tropical fruits.

On the palate the is tart under ripe peach, grapefruit, sour green apples. This isn't as expressive as I was hoping it to be. Medium+ acidity with a light to medium mouth feel.

I was hoping for more and didn't get what I wanted.

Nice citrus punch on the entry with a pronounced acid and mineral structure and just enough smooth body to keep you coming back for more. A wee bit of meyer lemon wafts up from the empty glass. Nearly perfect on a quickly cooling Seattle fall aftenoon.
