Jan 9th, 2017This is such a lovely wine. Southern Rhone is quickly becoming my favorite wine region out there. The color is dark, dark purple, almost opaque. Black licorice on the nose with a little bit of cherry there just for good measure. I'm tasting figs, blackberries, blueberries, a little earth, and some nice tannins here. The complexity and balance of this wine are simply breathtaking. The finish has some spiciness and cherry which round out the experience. One of my favorite wines and can be held back a few more years. Let it breathe for about an hour and it will take you on a trip.
