Albeit a baby, after an hour of decanting the nose intense sweet black cherry and a hint of red raspberry. Well balanced and structured with a palate of concentrated layered red fruit with a dusting of minerality. Clearly, another ten plus year will do this vintage well.

Bright, bursting acid. Color is more amber than expected. Attack intensely packed with chervil, black tea, grapefruit rind. Tannins still very present and driving moderate length. Bursting with energy against a horseradish slider--hardly overpowered, more challenged and victorious. Can't say the aromas ever opened up to be quite as interesting. Green pepper grabs hold of mid palate after 30 mins. Evolution would have been interesting; alas I was not patient.

Such power, such width (girth?) but still tension and balance. A beauty even if still a baby. Needs an hour at least right now.

Ouvert le matin et laissé en cave pour une lente aération. Un nez époustouflant, magnifique, complexe, des couches d’arômes se succèdent à un rythme incroyable, fraises, fruits rouges, rose, épices, probablement un des plus beaux nez de DRC que j’ai bu. Une bouche d’une finesse et d’une élégance sans pareil, pas le plus puissant mais quelle classe et profondeur, d’une longueur inouïe. Bu sur 4 heures juste pour en garder pour l’évaluer et n’a jamais bougé.
Open in the morning just to give it a slow dose of air, the most incredible DRC nose ever and i am lucky to have drank quite a few, and one of the most amazing nose on a wine i ever saw. Layers and layers of complexity. The palate is classy,elegant, deep and gorgeous, not the most powerful but what a wine, the length is unbelievable.

Hard to give a rating to a wine of this nature. So pure and elegant, this is a wine that will forever be embedded in my palate. Could it have been better in a better vintage or with age? Absolutely, but there is no flaw in this wine that would make me want to consider this wine could have been anything but excellent.
