Smoked, spices, good presence. Seems a very modern Rioja.

This is an exceptional wine. Spicy, sensual, earthy and fruity. Smooth and delicious, nice long finish, this was a bargain at under $20. If like me you don't know what "Crianza" refers to, it is essentially a Spanish rating scale for Rioja wines. Starting at Rioja, then Crianza, Reserva and finally Gran Reserva - there are oak and aging requirements for each level. At just level 2 of 4, this "hand-picked" Tempranillo is an incredible value.
