Really nice Chambolle here. If I'm having trouble putting my finger on the right words to describe it it's because it was in a really harmonious package here with no one element sticking out. This is an old-vine site for Digioia-Royer and it initially exhibited that material more through a thick-skinned tannic signature than through fruit seve, mostly because the fruit is so gentle. It has some dark undertones, a little blueberry or plum in a mostly red-fruited personality, along with a crushed stony element.
