Quite a complex nose after the initial (strong) reduction blows away - red berry compote, damson plum, some rose hip, a bit of nutmeg, some sweet incense, a bit of tar. But there’s also an incredibly uplifting fresh note - mint, Mandarine peel.
Richness, finesse, sappy freshness.
On the palate this is quite light with finely polished, dusty tannins, fresh red berry acidity and overall great purity. Plus a bit of rusty, bloody minerality in the background and a cranberry infused savoury finish.
Balanced and with good length and incredibly food friendly! A really nice one from Alto Piemonte.
