Wins the award for black cork of the month. This bottle was opened about 3 hours before dinnertime and was allowed to sit and breathe. Rian showing a teeny tiny bit of age. This 2008 poured a maroon color with violet tones. The nose was cinnamon, blueberry, grilled meat, blackberry, herbs. The entry is blackberry cassis, herbs although definitely cassis dominated. Power, depth, complexity all there. Still quite a bit of stiff toasty tannin on the finish. Rian is starting to gain my respect, although Levante is still my favorite. This wine was definitely singing tonight.
