Amber pushing gasoline with a roiling, merengue bubble bath. Sporadic lacing of Spanish moss and graffitied drips. Can’t shake the sweet petrol here, as I huff. Tropical slurry of pineapple, banana liqueur, ovrerripe orange, humid sweet tea, sweat, all bagged and buried for prison hooch. This one smells dangerous. Boozy at 8.5 and coming in warm despite refrigeration; candied grapefruit peel, baked-black gourd sugars, lemon seed, grapefruit pith and pulp bordering on fermentation, there are cigar-sweet notes here with tobacco heat too, and the taste of tin can. The moniker is fitting. I’ve had people tell me they love this beer, and seek it out. Taste is certainly subjective. Not my favorite DIPA. The name says it all, though, and if you expected soft and sweet, well, you haven’t been exposed to the Florida man swamp knowledge! Dirty, ripped and greasy, with reptile fat. Enjoy!
