This is a wine I was afraid to leave laid down any longer. Remember that this is from one of those winemakers that coyly claims to be "just a humble little farmer"! Pale lemon color with a medium intensity bouquet. Stone fruit and citrus with just a bit of blossom on the nose. Palate shod medium intensity and long finish. Peach and apricot sing beautifully along with integrated and refreshing acidity and a medium to long finish. There's a steely minerality underneath the fruit. Since I broke all rules and paired this with a meal including red wine vinegar soaked garlic cloves, the pairing brought out the malolactic butteriness of the wine. Just beautiful. This is one of the wines that should show what Virginia can do with Viognier. Beautiful.
