Drinking the entry level stablemate tonight, a timely comparison. I’m told (but cannot verify) that this is made using only CdP fruit, despite being a CdR. Reminiscent of its fancier sibling without the refinement and depth. Coarser tannins. Still a lot of wine for the money and plenty to like, and lots of life left in it.

Slate and graphite nose. Fruit forward, and quite a mouthful! Licorice, ripe red fruits, and slight tartness. Smooth tannins, although a short finish. Quite delightful!

Apr 11th, 2020Immediately likeable. Grainy pencil shaving tannins, plum and other dark red fruit, soft spice. It presents like a much more expensive wine and, although it finishes a little short and simple, it’s an absolute delight. Good indication of the potential of the 2016 vintage.
