Elegance abounds in this phenomenal wine with distinct notes of lead pencil, rose petal, and black fruit. The wine is extraordinarily juicy and even a bit gamey. I could've let this age for another decade but circumstances have arisen in such a way that compelled me to open it this evening. I'm not disappointed. Huge thanks to @Ted Corvey for this bottle! Olives, sage, and decaying Violet's on the nose. Black pepper, more olive brine, light anise, and grippy tannins in the mouth. Long finish good acidity. More restrained and elegant than the guigal brune et blond and overall a bit better.
