Le Blanc D'Aiguilhe

Le Blanc d’Aiguilhe 2023
Côtes de Bordeaux, France 🇫🇷
Overview
Crafted by Comte Stephan von Neipperg at Château d’Aiguilhe, this blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Sémillon is one of the Right Bank’s hidden gems. Château d’Aiguilhe sits on lands once held by the Knights Templar, adding a legendary edge to its wines. The Neipperg family itself has deep noble roots in Württemberg, Germany, and today manages several prestigious Bordeaux estates—bringing a unique cross-cultural heritage to their winemaking.
Aromas & Flavors
Citrus zest, green apple, and white peach mingle with floral notes and flinty minerality. The palate reveals lemon peel, grapefruit, and melon, with subtle honeyed accents and wet stone precision.
Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied, vibrant, and lively, yet softened by supple roundness from the Sémillon. Crisp and mineral-driven finish, refreshing to the very end.
Winemaking Notes
Fermented and aged partially in oak with bâtonnage, adding texture and depth while maintaining bright freshness.
Food Pairing
Pairs beautifully with oysters, shellfish, grilled white fish, or chèvre. Equally delightful as a refined aperitif.
Verdict
An elegant Bordeaux Blanc that combines freshness, precision, and texture. Le Blanc d’Aiguilhe 2023 proves the Right Bank isn’t only about world-class reds—it also delivers whites of remarkable finesse, backed by centuries of tradition and history.
Cheers!
