My first time to have the Rosé from one of my favorite wineries. 2017 is current release. The fruit is from the Armada Vineyard in a special two row section that is used solely for rosé.

Almost like an orange wine in the glass with its hue. Aromatically, there is blood orange, melon, and a stone/mineral type flair that indicates this is more of a thinking man’s type rosé. Fair bit of spritz on the palate with tangy orange peel, watermelon rind, black cherry skin and a kiss of iron at the very finish (feels like a Cayuse signature move). A Rosé that seemed to evolve ever so slightly the longer it was open. Definitely complex.

The ‘Edith’ Rose was sourced from four rows of Grenache which is only grown for Rose. The wine was whole cluster pressed prior to bottling and the wine is kept for another year due to the wine being unfiltered. The wine was aged in both concrete eggs and stainless steel prior to bottling. The nose is very perfumed and shows pretty red rose, wild strawberry with shades of wild mushroom and orange rind that all mingle nicely in the glass. The texture here is silky smooth as the wine seamlessly glides across the mid-palate. Bright guava and strawberry flavors mingle with wonderful peat moss, wet stone and melon tones all fill the palate. This is Grenache Rose at its finest. Drink 2020-2025- 93

I always hear this wine is not good, but breaking into it during the winter, I have to say it’s delightful.
