I'm always going to rate Broman higher than most people will say it deserves, but it's a great wine at a great price made by great people. And that's part of the magic of wine. This is the second of two bottles we brought home from a visit with the owners. The first bottle we drank a few months ago, and it seemed middle aged with plenty of fruit. This bottle was more austere and showed much less fruit. This reminded me of a 30 year old Brane Cantenac we had 10 years ago.

In your face, Cellartracker! Allegedly this was done in 2010, but it's far from it. We were lucky enough to meet the owner/winemaker on a visit to Napa a few years ago. Gracious people, lovely wine. This was their favorite if the library vintages, and I can see why. Any fear of vinegar was dismissed immediately upon opening. Cork showed minimal seepage, dark fruit on the nose and palate. Incredibly long finish. I can still taste it about five minutes after the first sip. This will be fun over the next hour or two. First of two (signed) bottles. I was worried they were past due, but after opening the first, I'm in no hurry to drink the second. It has plenty of time left.
