Sept: always a great month-wedding anniversary, humidity gone, and Bogle releases Phantom. The 04 was served at my wedding. This wine still never fails to impress. Consistently punching above its weight, the newest iteration ('12) is nuanced, toasty and complicated. Lots of smoky tannins take over after a nose that is a healthy mix of floral notes and crushed stone. Tart, jammy, but never in your face dark berry flavors gently coat the tongue. Finish is clean and fruit forward. Buy now. Drink over 7 years. 16 bucks at trader Joe's. In my experience, the wine is gone within a month or less on release.

Fruit forward and bold. I enjoyed it with Trader Joes "Unexpected" cheese. Nice compliment to each other.

A blend of 39% Zin, 38% Petite Sirah and 23% Cabernet Sauvignon with grapes sourced from Lodi, Clarksburg and Amador. Juicy black fruit mixed with spices. Good acidity and enough (supple) tannic bite to keep it interesting. A bit expensive for what it is.

Deep red in color, lots of tannin but yet has a fruity taste of cherry. This is my 2nd Halloween wine for the season. I love the story on the back: in the dark recesses of the cellar you sense a presence, hear footsteps. Why is it these things only happen when you are alone? In the shadows, a glimpse of muddy boots and old blue jeans...the lurking legacies of hard work and determination left by those who have come before you.

This was alright but not as bold as I was hoping it would be.

Smooth red that pairs well with or without food. Great with dinner or to finish the day in front of a nice fire. Very cool silkscreened bottle, too.

One of my favorite affordable wines. Smoke, oak, and blackberry. Dry and bold.

Didn’t like at first, definitely need to let it breathe awhile before drinking.
