Mencia grape from 80 year old vines on slate soil. Top wine, very aromatic, red fruit but stony undertone. Surprising, very high quality, Drinks beautifully now but has a good ten years in it. Great acidity and pure balance.

The cold vintage brings this to a new level of elegance.
Dark fruit galore with dark cherry, mulberry, damson plum. With a pinch of exotic spice and some wet earth.
On the palate this is just so smooth. Poised, elegant with polished sandy tannins and beautiful juicy acidity. Nice depth & precision here. And purity.
I find this a dash more elegant vs Mencias from Valtuile, less edgy & approachable earlier.
A really lovely wine.
