Made in a small town at foot of Sierra Cantabria in DO. A single variety Tempranillo from 50 year old vines has a deep Ruby red color aged for 18 months in French and American oak. Aromas of red fruit and spice. On the palate a loads of fruit, fine tannins well balanced with a long finish ending with some oak notes. Nice!

Drinks nice and smooth that is spice/pepper forward, followed by some dark fruits. Mainly juicy and peppery.

Was a bit disappointed in this one. It scored lowest in our Rioja tasting. I’m hoping it opens up. Sweet Carmel bouquet, fruity and rich. Dry finish. Will edit my review if it changes
