A rare treat to try some aged Comando G. Fresh raspberry, pimenton, fennel.

Last bottle for the close-out bunch that I snagged this summer. This was the freshest and most aromatic of the group, though all were in great shape. Meeeeeow I love these wines! 😻🤤⛰️

Second bottle from the bunch I grabbed on closeout at the co-op, even fresher than the first. A touch more gamey as well, in just the right way. I fucking love grenache. 🍒🤸🏼‍♂️🐎

Comando G - on some offerings from this producer Delectable cuts off the G. For a few years, this wine has been sold with a very different label in the US as La Bruja de Rozas, a nod to it's origins in Madrid's Sierra Oeste. This, however, has always been the label in Spain.

Why am I rambling about tedious middle tier wine business? I am a Stan for these guys' wines under any label. In Sacramento, that usually means paying for shipping from the Bay or LA. But! When a case of this randomly showed up on closeout at my local co-op, with the old label no less, I bought almost all of it. And it's holding up very well! Evolving but still fresh and welterweight. Cherry, game, gravelly granite and super aromatic. 🍒⛰️🇪🇸

Very nuanced wine. Lots of fun! The nose is somewhat floral with strawberries. The palate is just slightly fizzy with red fruits and flowers. Lilacs I think.

Very cool, geeky wine. Lots of flowers and strawberries in the nose. The palate is deeply nuanced with strawberries, rhubarb, red raspberries and spices. Really nice Old World Garnacha.

High QPR at 12eur. From Madrid, this is 100% garnacha. Light in body. Good on palette. Nice finish. Red fruit.

Soft but focused. A lighter style wine and delightful.
