For me, the 13 Bevan McGan is slightly over extracted and true to Bevan style, hot in alcohol. The fruit, however, is undeniable. Ruby cassis of; blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, plum, black raspberries, anise, dark spice, soft layers of baking spices, black licorice, loamy dry top soil, understated crushed dry rocks, leather, dry stems, violets, round acidity & velvety, thick tannins. The tension, length, structure and balance are nicely done. The beautiful finish is; big, thick, rIch, elegant and very long. They would net a better score if they would just dial back the throat and palate burning alcohol. While I don’t buy Beavan, I do think they farm nice fruit. I simply wish they would dial back the alcohol. Their wines would be so much better if they did.

Wotn. Amazing blue fruits. Decanted for about 90 minutes and this wine is drinking beautifully.

Boysenberry and ripe raspberries on the nose. Soft round and lucious black and red fruit. Perfectly balanced and elegant. This is what Rutherford cab should taste like! Russel does it again!!!

Really delicious. Excellent concentration, complexity, and length. Luxurious, velvety texture.
