Beringer Vineyards
California Cabernet Sauvignon
2017 vintage opened July 2021. I’m not sure why peeps are giving this wine the sub-9.0 ratings that they are. This is a very drinkable wine with an excellent balance and a nice complexity. Mild scent of leather and dry clay on the nose. Strawberries and red raspberries on the front. A mid-level tannic structure — smooth but not smothering — which I’ve found to be a characteristic of Sonoma Cabs. Soft finish. Maybe a few afternotes, enough to consider it a “long finish”. Subtle but thoroughly enjoyable. Drinkable now, drinkable for at least another decade.
