Stunning wine. Forest floor, pine trees, smoked bacon and ham, a touch of camp fire, with a dollop of dried red fruit. Tannins are dense and tight. This wine will continue to get better with age. I could see it going 10 more years easily.

This is the best American Syrah I’ve had and possibly the best syrah period. And I’ve had a lot of syrah’s including multiple vintages of Grange.

Sep 30th, 2018Even with a four hour decant, this one was so dense. The nose was incredible, lots of purple drank fruits and a hint of meatiness. It was spicy and briary, but kept changing. The palate was still wound up tightly but had a ton of power behind it. Will wait a few more years on the other two in the three pack.

Struggled with this one due to the amount of new oak. Loved the aromatics on it but I think this needs at least a few more years to better come together.
