I like the Beau Vigne Zin that he sent a bit more than this Syrah, bought a case of that Zin after tasting it.
That Hertelendy cork is tall!

Non stop snow in Tahoe for 3 days, we're up to 5' with another day to go. Power went out 2 hours ago- perfect time to open a bottle of wine. This one's going to be absolutely wicked in a couple of years. Black in the glass with a purple rim. Intense nose of licorice and spearmint. Dense palate of blackberries simmered in mulling spices. Long grippy finish that hangs on for a good 45 seconds. Glad I took advantage of my allocation.
