Nice starter wine for my birthday dinner/evening. Just a classic BdM all around. At first that funk that blew off after about an hour. Then earth, dark berry, leather. This righteous wine was a perfect complement to my wife’s bolognese and my Filetto Al Gorgonzola that was cooked to perfection at our fav little Italian spot, La Rustica. Lisini delivers yet again.

Excellent. This wine rates an 8.0 right out of the bottle but needs a good 15 minutes in the glass to score a solid 9.0... Give it a minute before you dive in.

Ask and I shall receive. 4hr decant delivers. Classic BdM notes of sweet oak, earth funk, dark cherry, old leather. I'm getting about 30 seconds of palate costing pleasure too. Plush acid/tannin structure around an earthy dark cherry, tobacco complexity. Oh Lisini you surpassed my anticipation.

Early for this, but starting to come together. Everything you want in a Brunello, but nothing to kick it into the next gear. They don't all have to be show stoppers, and this was just prefect with dinner.

Clean, well-made Brunello that drinks very well with minimal air and is priced reasonably. Not a profound wine, but a very good example from a less heralded vintage. Drink or hold up to 5 years.
