Revisiting this wine and vintage about 8 months from first trying it. My initial review still holds. An excellent, elegant and complex wine.

Single vineyard. Vino nobile di Montepulciano. Dark ruby coloration with translucency common to Sangiovese wines. On the nose, florals, dark berries and black cherry with sweet spices. On the palate, rich and complex, currants and cherry and the fruit side giving way to earthiness and minerality, vanilla, with some herbs and rose petal. Tannins are still strong but balanced. Elegant and complex wine with a long layered finish. 240 euros from the winery.

Extremely elegant, Margaux without the oak. Brambly black fruit, black currant, fine herbal undertones. If it wasn’t so damn expensive…
