Estate Howell Mountain Sauvignon Blanc

Big, full throttle oaked Sauvignon Blanc. Tropical fruit and woody notes with some mineral notes in the background. Well made although not my preferred style.

12' It's one of the best Sauv Blancs in the country! This wine is aging wonderfully. Tangerine, peach, splash of orange. Beautifully integrated acid. I just don't know if it gets much better. If your not a fan of their REDS, please don't dismiss this amazing Sauv Blanc.

Aromas of honeycomb and apricot. Pineapple brûlée awesome with Iris cheddar.

I am on the fence for this SB. It kind of tastes like it wants to be a Chardonnay IMO (if that makes sense).

Wow it's an amazing bottle of wine !

Concrete, oak and lots of time on the lees (11 months) make this wine wonderfully textured without compromising the purity of the fruit's expression. Mango and key lime, rich and a nice rounded bright finish.

Ripe nectarine, pineapple, Meyer lemon, mineral backbone and zesty acidity

Must let it breathe and warm up. Light grapefruit and tropical fruits with a soft finish. Color of Chardonnay due to the oak aging.

Do not usually drink Sauvignon Blanc but this one changed our minds!

At the behest of the winemaker, Sam Kaplan, I tried this Sauvignon Blanc. As others have noted, it is not a normal SB. Heavier and more substantial, almost Chardonnay in style. Given time in the glass, it smooths out nicely and becomes very round. Delightful with some sushi.
