Altamura
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley, California, USA
Lucky day. Trying this at a picnic in Bear Valley amongst wildflowers. Looks a bit like rusty nails. Brick orange to red rust color. Bit of ruby red in there too. Aroma is pipe tobacco or cigars with cherry cordial and dark cocoa. It smells great for an aged wine. Perfumed. Flavor is elegant. Plenty of acid after all these years and very smooth tannins for a Cab as I guess one expect after 25 years. This is just lovely well-aged stuff from way back. A great pleasure to have this on a plain of wildflowers on a lovely April Sunday. Thanks Nicole Salengo for sharing. Makes one forget about the Covid 19 crisis for a bit.
