I'll admit I'm typically a fan of wines Michel Rolland consults on and this one is no exception. Still, they often start to taste the same after awhile. This Merlot based Meritage opened up nicely after an hour or so. Plummy with some sour cherry and a hint of cocoa. The tannins are soft and mostly round. But the mid palate is flat. The product of micro oxygenation? Sadly my drinking companion has a newly broken nose so he can't weigh in on this fairly.

Beautifully balanced Napa Valley red wine. Definitely has aged well with darker earthier notes - leather, etc. it paired great with our steak dinner.
