Nice value predominately corvina blend with some amarone techniques used in drying out about 25% of the grapes in the blend before pressing and adding to the original juice. Rich red fruit with mocha hints. Medium bodied and well balanced. High QPR and fairly available.

Approachable immediately, but was so much better an hour later. Roses and raisins.

Very Italian in style with that funky old barrel microbe flavor and taste. Good fruit just hard to shake that negative lingering flavor.

This is one of the wines that has made Allegrini famous, vineyard surrounds Villa della Torre, a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture. The blend is the historic combination of Corvina and Rondinella with the addition of a small quantity of Sangiovese. A nice example of a Ripasso style. Nose of dried red fruit and earthy spice. Palate full of dried berry fruits, good balance of lively acid and chewy tannins. Medium finish. A favorite with pasta.

Smoky red fruit and leather on the nose. Is that star anise? Tobacco in the mouth. Tannins are big almost leaving the fruit in the background. Big oak.

2013 on 11/07/17. This one stood up to the smoked/grilled steak very well. Enjoyed the pepper and spice finish.

Nice veronese with hints of amorone. Fresh sweet cherries and raisin and prune. I think pasta and red sauce may have overwhelmed this.
