Rad Anjou Blanc here. First wine from this producer; have heard good things and I'm definitely not disappointed. Rich yet nimble and deliciously quenching. Pours a medium (-) intensity, slightly burnished gold hue. Concentrated nose of chamomile tea, beeswax, bruised green apple and Anjou pear, smoky crushed chalk minerality, and an almost minty herbal freshness. Palate shows very similarly to the nose although there's less bruised character to the fruit component. Screamin' acid and finishes dry but you can sense a just bit of balancing RS on the midpalate. Less than 10g/L for sure, though. Medium (-) body with slightly rich, oily texture from lees and natural MF. Alcohol is medium (+) and tiniest bit hot on the palate for my tastes but not distractingly so. Pretty nice stuff here. I really want this with some nice hot pork belly steamed bun. A lovely companion on this hot, ridiculously humid (look at that condensation!) day.
