Ripe and fiercely tannic upon opening, 2 hours in the decanter and things have mellowed a lot. A dark appearance and darker fruit aromas and flavors from the 2007 vintage. It still has some freshness, but lacks a little in nimbleness and overall complexity. The nose is dominated by the dark red fruits, but some blood orange citrus and rose petals add complexity.
