A wine of this age should not be as mature, BUT in this case it's advanced maturity is our win as it is still balanced and not tired. It just tastes more like a 1995 or so. Brown bag, red label. This was a curiosity that needed air. Wish I could have let this sit in a decanter for a day before drinking it. Lots of VA covering up the details. Underneath there's a beautiful wine somewhere. Very classic. Cherry, leather, licorice, clove. #giacosa — 8 years ago
