Deep ruby hue. Strong extraction, heavy tearing. Dusty earth, herbal, and black fruit notes on the nose. Fresh blackberries, black cherry jam, ripe plums, and dried figs. Smooth on the palate with a nice balance and consistency in fruit notes. Also leather, anise, baking spices, dried bay leaf, caramel, and dry potting soil. Paired well with boeuf bourguignon and mixed greens salad with fresh figs and haricot verts. Vintage 2016. This 07 left a lot to be desired. Medium minus tannins, medium plus acidity, pale garnet color. Notes of crushed rock, pencil shavings and orange peel.
