Totally transformed with food. Went from boring to wow after the first bite (of broccoli nonetheless)! A cru Beaujolais (from one of the 10 towns that makes great wine!) this St-Amour is light, with red fruit and a mineral bite. Fabulous with lighter food. Gotta love a food wine! — 9 years ago

A spectacular wine. This importer, Winesellers, Ltd. Importing & Marketing sent me a ton of wine and this is my first crack at a bottle. Always wary with wine sends but this is promising... Outstanding Monsant from Spain. Garnacha, Carinena, and Syrah. Tons of wet clay with cherry, nutmeg, and dark flower aromas and flavors. Great balance of tannin, alcohol and acid. I am loving this Verdejo but I'm puzzled about why it is so golden. It's not that old, there appears to be no oak or sugar, and it's not tannic (all would darken wine). Also, everyone who has reviewed it has called it straw colored (normal for Verdejo). I guess I don't care that much though - lemon, grass, grapefruit and tartness countered by silky smooth richness. The Baga grape from Portugal. A great version of this grape, which can be tannic and terrible when made poorly. This is medium in body, with a woodsy flavor. Cranberry with smoke notes. Reminds me of a good quality Burgundy. — 9 years ago
