Still v young but great zip. Lots of mineral. Love it in 5 yrs — 10 years ago

Patz & Hall

Hudson Vineyard Chardonnay 2013

Worth putting down. More concentration than zip. Intense pear action with a great dancing minerality. Layers of mandarin and lemony cream. Great creamy mouthfeel. If you close your eyes, you can smell the eucalyptus trees from the property. — 10 years ago

A spicy, woody one with zip to handle spicy food. Love it. — 11 years ago

Aveleda

Casal Garcia Vinho Verde Rosé Blend

Very nice. I'd guess most people love this wine, or don't care for it - with no middle ground. It's got its own personality. This wasn't in our top 4 for rosé, but would probably fifth. Wonderful bouquet, and quite a bit of zip. Would be awesome with trout or a similar fish. We had chicken. — 10 years ago

VVV @ Petes. Weaker nose than the rest but the team liked it. Softer than brewer, but more zip than the ABC. — 10 years ago

Delord

25 Ans d'Age Bas Armagnac

Slope Cellars: "A blend of three vintages, but the bulk of it is 1981. 40% abv. A beautiful colour, rich dark, gold. Viscous in the glass. Lovely perfumed aromas. Spicy prunes on the nose. Very elegant, soft, rich fruit. Gorgeous. Soft, brown sugar. Perfectly ready to drink. Tons of structure and zip and a very long finish. Orange peel note on the finish. Perfect. Orange butter on the nose, like as in crepes. Really aromatic! Cinnamon note on the nose. Great paired with Plumb Tart Tatin." — 11 years ago

Difford's Guide: "Single distilled from a blend of Ugni Blanc and Baco 22A grape varieties grown on Delord's own Bas region vineyards. Aged in Delord's cellars for a minimum of 25 years.

Appearance: Clear, golden amber.
Aroma: Boatyard varnish, overripe banana, prunes, spicy black treacle and floor wax.
Taste: Old-school muscular style of Armagnac which is well-rounded with good rancio. Stewed prunes, walnut, cinnamon, dried fruit and fruitcake.
Aftertaste: Long dry biscuity finish with lingering treacle. Heavy but easy drinking.
