Petrol, honey solvent nose. Sticky mouthfeel (yes I said it) with generous acid. Chez Monsieur Potates — 8 years ago
Brought this delicious little nugget back with us from our visit to Alsace, FR. Beautiful, old world dry white with earthy, white truffle delights. My recommendation? Hold this one if you're able restrain yourself for about 10 more years. Yes, I said 10 years. The wines from this region prove themselves to deliver something even more special with time. — 9 years ago
Of course she said yes — 9 years ago
RIP to the late Zlatan who passed a month ago.
Zlatan Otok is one of my favourite wineries in Croatia. I appreciate every single one of the wines that I've tried but that said, this Zlatan Otok 2010 Crljenak is my absolute fave.
In 2001 a research, funded by Mike Grgich of Judgement of Paris fame, on the origin of Zinfandel came to fruition. It confirmed that Zinfandel and Primitivo came from Croatia. Unfortunately at the point of discovery, the vines of Crljenak in Croatia was near extinction. Today, only a handful of Croatian wineries still produce this wine. As far as I've tried, the Zlatan Otok 2010 Crljenak is the best representation of this variety.
Notes: Colour is dark garnet with some clarity. On the nose, I get cboth red and black fruit, white and black pepper, slightly perfumey like amber and musk. The palate reflects exactly what's on the nose, carried off by vibrant acidity and prominent minerality. Tannins are slightly coarse but sweet, which means it should be aged in the bottle for a while longer but ready to be enjoyed now. What I love most is how it opens up and expresses itself on the palate like a triangle--from narrow and shy to wide and lively. This Crljenak has lighter body than most Californian Zinfandel.
The final conclusion: Yes please! It's slightly cheaper than Lytton Springs, and I'm getting more pleasure from this. — 9 years ago
Yes said the nose after about a second from liberation. (The top off) I didn't expect to find a place that cared so much for this lady here on Sukhumvit 22 Bangkok. But I have and recommend others to liberate this beauty. Well priced, well positioned, well inside. Drink it in. — 10 years ago
Yes that's right a Pinot noir from Alsace - in a Riesling bottle - they didn't even reprint the label that said Alsace white wine :) — 11 years ago
Yes. 'Nuff said. — 12 years ago
Australian winemakers seem to be competing for the Quirkiest name. First we had Sailor Seeks Horse and now Yes, Said the Seal. Both specialising in Pinot Noir. This wine had notes of Cherry red berries Forest floor and unobtrusive spicy oak. The savoury palate reflects the aromas. This was the Winner of the Australian Pinot Challenge recently. Chief Judges were seasoned Show Judge and Burgundy nut Phillip Rich and Jim Chatto chief winemaker at McWilliams. Young Pinot doesn't get much better than this. Tasted again 49 weeks later on 9th September 2018 with consistent notes. Yet made another note on Delectable. — 8 years ago
Blackberry, raspberry, fig, spice, beautiful texture. Yes, it's high alcohol, and yes, flavor is cranked up to 11, but there is something to be said for satisfying hedonistic cravings. FWIW, the '09 is way better than the '10. — 9 years ago
Another Great production by Sineann Vineyards. This is the 2013 Old Vine Zinfandel. Opening the bottle is so easy. Better than a screw top, its twist, discard, and pop the glass stopper. I love it! The color is dark dark purple. The legs are miles long and thick. The bouquet is coffee beans and dirt. The initial palate is raspberry vanilla. The finish is long with notes of black pepper and sour apple. WOW. This may be the first Zinfandel that I can say is out of this world. With that being said, it is slightly different than the typical California Zinfandel but is definitely a zin!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay... Two glasses. After a 1 hour decant, it is a perfect 10!!!!!!!!!
Cant get any better.
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!
Im going back and getting a case.
Yes it is 15.3%, but I am not drunk off One and 1/2 glasses!!!!!! This is perfection. — 9 years ago
Great merlot.....yes I said merlot!!!! Drinks like Pomerol, Dynamite!!!!! — 9 years ago
The distributor said emphatically " drink this with aged goat cheese". Totally get it. Dry but with some nice fruit. Loved it by itself, but yes - good cheese wine. — 9 years ago
Great Bordeaux for the price. Earthy, mossy, light fruit, with a touch of burnt rubber. Eat with a thick ribeye and let the tannins embrace the fatty meat. And yes, that's what she said. — 10 years ago
Said yes to the dress - time to celebrate! — 10 years ago
Joe Davis is Demi-god. One of the greatest yet unsung heroes of American wine. This is one of the greatest American Chardonnays ever made, yes I said that, I dare you to put it against ANY American Chardonnay. — 11 years ago
Greek (yes I said Greek) red wine! Lovely, light with just a tinge of acidity! Perfect with Veal Cheek & Sweet Breads! — 12 years ago
Yes this was 2005 as once again it was from a shiner, a 375ml. Spectacular. Diana said that she knew the 05's were special when she first tasted them. She was spot on. This is a find it and buy it wine. — 8 years ago
Love this wine - because of the 2012 I bought the BTK and Martinez and this version for 14 - second time with this wine and all I can say is I am a believer - it is up there with all really good Napa cabs of late for me - decanted 2 hours
Why do I like this wine so much? Three words - big bold beautiful- the color is an amazing dark color deep purplish shamrock color - smells like grooving on Sunday afternoon with blackberry and cassis fruit - this wine hits the palate with bold serious authoritative expert pinpoint force that must be reckoned with and the taste - oh yes the taste - well - it is reason I said it is up there with the best of Napa cabs of late for me - the taste is rich concentrated with wonderful mouth filling tannins and last forever
This wine should last at least 10 years

How about just "Yes" burnt Carmel nutty dry well balanced. Perfectly paired with olive oil cake. Beautiful. This is the third sherry from this producer I have drank in the past 2 months and each one outdoes the previous one. Pure heaven that goes on and on. Nothing else needs to be said. If you are able to acquire this, I strongly recommend you jump on this beauty!! — 9 years ago
Yes, it's a dark rose color, and NO, it's not sweet. In fact this rosé is much less fruity and floral than other dry rosés I've encountered. The acid is not searing but still has enough to make it food friendly and refreshing. The time in oak barrels gives this rosé a rich texture and depth of flavor. Full of white peach, watermelon rind and rose petals. I bought 3 bottles on the spot- nuff said! — 10 years ago
She said yes, and choose Chablis instead of champagne. Fantastic minerality — 10 years ago
2010 Clos St Jean was singing. So much so, I was too excited to give the guest this momento before the bottle shot! Supple, but light, lemon, pluot, and honeysuckle. Vanilla bean & touch of thyme. & Yes. I said Pluot. — 10 years ago
Grew up drinking this, still brewed the same as it has been for the many years I know, still brewed in Rome, with all that be said, is it the finest brew from Itay? I would say so, is it clean and refreshing? Yes, but so little as taste goes, for me, do I enjoy it? From time to time, when I want something light, but mostly for the memories — 12 years ago
This is my first wine upload to Delectable! Let's see what happens. (this bottle is the bomb as well, yes, I said "the bomb") — 13 years ago
