2015 Tempranillo – Aged in American oak barrels in our cellar, this is a big, vivacious, old-world style wine. Typical of Spanish-born Riojas, this is a medium- to full-bodied wine with aromas of dried roses, red cherry, and strawberry mixed with an earthy minerality. This easy-to-drink wine finishes with sassafras, milk chocolate, tobacco and a touch of vanilla. Drink now or age 3+ years.

At the Old Yellowstone Garage with Kate, Jamie, and Allen 5/28/17. One of the smoothest wines I have ever had, goes well with anywhere. — 8 years ago
The '95 never fails to astound me. This bottle came with me from Maine, through Colorado and Utah in extreme summer heat. It's been to climbing areas like Rifle, Mount Evans, Lincoln Lake, and also Yellowstone, Arches.
As usual, when I decanted it in the morning it tasted thin, figgy, bretty- oxidized and unpleasant. 8 hours later it became a tapestry of tertiary blackcurrant, tamari, blackberry, toast, sandalwood, roasted purple yam skin, a slight balsamic prickle, and dried orange.
It dominated the conversation, constantly transforming in the glass. We talked of first meetings, of Serge (the winemaker), the mysteries of how this wine was made, how it was rejected on release due to high VA. The 95 continues to grow in wisdom and eloquence, and probably will for several more decades. — 9 years ago

This half-parent to Cabernet Sauvignon is emerging from a blending wine to a superb stand-alone varietal. It’s a medium-bodied wine with flavors of white pepper, cherries, raspberries, licorice and vanilla leading to a structured and well-balanced velvety finish.

Sweet but not too sweet. Jess and I drank a lot of this on the Yellowstone trip! Total Wine — 8 years ago
Lovely wine for cheese (hard cheese such as tome de Savoie, gruyère or Appenzell or soft goat cheese). A dry wine with a first acidic attack but then is very round and full of citrus aromas. It is rather thick despite its very clear and light Yellowstone color - do not be fooled, it of a 13° vol which is quite powerful. I smell mostly grapefruit and almond. Very nice wine for such a reasonable price (14€ in France). Vive la France! — 8 years ago
