Cirillo

The Vincent Single Vineyard Grenache 2017

Interesting - grenache flavours but with a herbal/green infusion that you might like or not. I’m a bit on the fence. Savoury finish, not candied, fresh but back to back with the Yangarra old vine Grenache ($28 Yangarra vs $20 Cirillo street price), great prices, both quality but I’ll go the Yangarra. — 7 years ago

McLaren Vale Mourvèdre 2015

Menthol and eucalyptus on the nose. Fruits on the palate; black raspberries, plums, blackberries & blue fruits. Black licorice, violets, dry minerals, good acidity and finishes with soft dry tannins. Body is much leaner than those made in Provence. Most of the Australians in this region mostly refer to this grape as Mataro. — 9 years ago

GSM McLaren Vale Grenache Blend 2017

First sip is particularly dark-chocolatey with a hint of earthy undertones. Second sip as it airs out, it’s filled with berries - rich and thick full of flavor. — 6 years ago

The Peake Cabernet Shiraz 2014

9.5

Tasted this new wine with Chris Carpenter who makes "Lokoya" in Napa Valley. Chris is making this wine at Yangarra. The nose is sweet perfumed blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, tarry notes, licorice & dried red florals. The wine on the palate is pretty, soft and elegant dark florals, plum, dark cherries, blackberries, soft wood use, soft leather, soft darker minerals, crushed dry rocks, violets, anise, mocha powder and a lean ripe finish that deepens on the long beautiful finish. — 9 years ago

Yes, it is. However, good this wine is, keep in mind it's made in an Australian style. It's not Lokoya.

Soft citrus and gentle yellow & white floral nose. Tropical richness in a feminine style. Touch of green melon, peach, underripe pineapple, soft understated minerals with amazing corals that match the nose. Pictured is the terroir soil this wine is grown. — 9 years ago
