Love Paul Hobbs! What a cool collaboration. This wine is rich & elegant, but just right with a simple pasta at home on a cold Thursday night. — 4 years ago
The wines are the result of a shared passion of three winemakers: Paul Hobbs & Argentine parters Andrea Marchiori & Luis Barraud. Dark Ruby with aromas of berry fruits and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of cherry and raspberry with toasty notes and pepper spice. Good balance fine tannins, lingering ending with fruit and sweet herb character. Nice, small production. — 5 years ago

Greg Hobbs featured opening wine for us at The Artisans of Barossa. This is his Tango for the two grapes in the blend...Shiraz and Viognier. The two make for an excellent wine that just kept dancing better and better as they opened up. Greg was a Police Officer for 10 years before buying property in Barossa. Quite a transition! Greg's property right next to Chris Ringland's. — 7 years ago
Nice, a bit dry but lots of fruit. Dima liked it more than me — 7 years ago

I expected a California Sauvignon Blanc to taste fruity - the opposite of grassy. This CrossBarm Sauvignon Blanc plays the herbal card like an ace-high straight. New Zealandesque? Maybe, a bit. But there is more than the grassy aroma on the nose. The tropical fruit mows the lawn nicely, with pineapple and guava in abundance. A citrusy mineral note also plays into the bouquet. The mouthfeel is dominated a brisk acidity and that citrus angle, with apples and pears to boot. The herbal feel is certainly a major force, but not to the exclusion of the fruit. It is a beautiful Sauvignon Blanc which should please any New World palate. — 9 years ago

NY state Riesling pop n pour. Crisp and limey, though fairly simple. — 2 years ago
Recently rebranded as La Roche Mère this is the most prestigious of the three wines from this property
Earthy violet, hints of chocolate and cedar. Great length and balance - this has a refinement you don't find in Argentine malbec
Exceptionally smooth tannins with enough acidity to compliment most dishes on the table. There is oak on the nose and palate but it is held in check, adding to the wine's complexity — 6 years ago

magnum from when i left and opened for thanksgiving..perfect timing! still fresh, bright with fruity and savory aromatics — 8 years ago
Amazing quality wine, by Paul Hobbs! Leather and anise on the nose, which was also very floral and aromatic from afar. Dense black currant and black berries, creme-de-casi, tobacco, tea, earthy notes, and toasted vanilla on the pallet, ending in a lingering mocha finish. Absolutely top notch example of Napa Valley. While still young, decanters beautifully, so I'd say hold or drink for this one. One of the few best bottles under $100. — 9 years ago
Great mineral and blackberry compote nose with silky stewed red fruit and herbs on the palate. A lovely wine for the price, especially coming from Paul Hobbs. Shows off cool high elevation fruit. — 10 years ago

Just a little something something to prep my palate before the Festivities began! Solid Chardonnay but I expected more.
On the fun side!: Blind tasting three wines tonight with friends: 2013 Beau Vigne Estate, 2014 Becklyn Reserve & 2013 Morlet Coeur de Vallee. Can't wait to dig in to those 3 bad boys!!! — 7 years ago

1hr+ decant. Dark purple color. Nose of burnt caramel and dark fruit. Almost port like. Same on the palate but refined with tea elements and subtle spice. Medium plus depth and long finish. Love Paul Hobbs and this is great, but not quite my style. — 10 months ago
