My first Zinfandel experience. Fruit forward and heady alcohol hit. Balanced tannin and acidity with just a hint of sweetness. Fun to drink! — 8 years ago
Hint of mint on the nose. With fresh sage. Flavors are berry pies and licorice. Plenty of petite sirah and such. — 8 years ago
One of the best Malbec in this price range. — 8 years ago

Opened up with supper expressive aromatics of red bramble fruit with a hint of stoniness. Juicy and open. A little grippy on the back. Another couple years and this should be hitting its stride. Always love this wine. Great value. Definitely a producer that should be better know, but is gladly sub rosa. — 10 years ago
This red is very enjoyable mostly Zin blend. It is nice with a ripe fruit and spice nose with a medium to full body and plenty of cranberry, black current, and peppery spice. Tart and more tannic than the usual Zin and is well balanced and very easy to drink. — 10 years ago
Full-bodied and fruit-forward without the syrupy sweetness of most inexpensive California zins. Great $11 beach wine and even better at home for $8.50 at Total Wine! — 10 years ago
Nice dark fruit with a very slight mint nose. Great brambly cherish fruit taste. Nice long finish with a bit of tannins at the end. Very nice and balanced. Having with Moroccan Spiced Spatchcock Grilled Chicken — 11 years ago
Excellent typical example of good Aussie Grenache. First impression is 'red Clare Riesling'. Clean with ripe red fruit (strawberry fruit roll-out). White pepper with a little heart. Best with a little chill. #blindtasting #australianwinetasting #yangarra #Grenache — 7 years ago

Very nice flavor with strong fruit but not overwhelming. Little bit of spice, but fairly good balance overall slightly biased towards fruit side. Finish is medium long but not very tannic or acidic — 8 years ago
Clear deep ruby red wine, with a clean medium intensities of dried clack fruit and spices in the nose. A dry wine with low acidity, medium tannins and body with hints of dark fruit, especially black cherries, anise herbal flavors and MSU grooms with a long finish. Outstanding red blend that went well with Greek ground beef kebobs. — 8 years ago
I drank this after using an aerator. Immediately scent of braised beef and fresh rubber on the nose. Meaty flavor on the way down. Truly is best wine under $5 at TJ's — 9 years ago
I agree with a previous review, raisin on the tongue. Smooth yet bold. Delicious. — 9 years ago
13% alc.
3 barrels made. $35/btl.
From AR note sheet:
"61 year old dry-farmed white field blend of Sylvaner, Riesling and an assortment of other obscure varieties planted in fluffy white volcanic soils at the base of the western flank of Mount Veeder in the Sonoma Valley. Whole cluster pressed, fermented with native yeast in stainless steel, and aged in neutral French oak barrels for 10 months." — 10 years ago

I drank this at their open house, and at the time I thought it was one of the best 2011's we tasted. This is another example of a wine that will have the "experts" pondering the 2011 vintage. This may be similar to a 2003 for selected wineries. I'll go on the record that I like it - a lot. — 10 years ago

The third PCV wine opened the night of my birthday. This Zin is dense rich and sweet fruit with a bit of soft tannin. One of my favorite PCV zins. But getting old. — 12 years ago
I loved a wine, but it wasn't favored amongst other folks. Lots of vanilla and oak. Full bodied and dry. Love this! Would probably pair nicely with steak or ribs. — 8 years ago
Well balanced, hint of Smokey and spices. Any BBQ dish would match perfectly! — 8 years ago
Love this wine and at $8-$12 for a price point, it's pretty awesome! — 8 years ago
Tasty!! Sweet, very slightly dry, strong cherry notes, with a touch of cranberry, cardamom, and vanilla. The nose is extremely pleasant, full of cherry and oak. Very, very nice — 10 years ago
Really nice, smooth red blend for $14! Hints of black cherry, blackberry. — 10 years ago
Quite delicious with a spicy finish — 10 years ago
Superb blend of typicity with regional characteristics. Taste those old vines... One of the best Central Otagos I've tasted, and there have been many. Drinking perfectly now but still plenty of life, no need to rush. Purchased in Vancouver August 2015 for ~$55. — 10 years ago
Sweet, spicy, berry nose. Velvety, spicy, peppery with a touch of hot sauce on the finish. Rawk solid! — 11 years ago
