Ruby colored liquid in my glass. Hints of cherry pie on the nose. Flavors of tart cherries, red plums and baking spices. Beautiful acidity. A very balanced wine. This is my last regular bottle of CP wine. I do have a VS Pinot which I will sit on for a while. Glad other wineries are making really good wines from the Clos Pepe vineyard. — 7 years ago
Whole cluster fruit. Dried herbs, cranberries, and a tinge of cherry cola. Great mouthfeel, and the flavors roll from fruit to blossoming undergrowth. Wonderful — 9 years ago

Full of body and flavor for the price. Great Friday night steak wine! — 10 years ago
2008 vintage. Had never come across the "Little Hill" until today. Light-medium body. Decanted and was fairly musty for 2-3 minutes before it started to blossom. Some blue fruit/menthol/eucalyptus throughout the experience. Demonstrative spice component on the back end. Could really only ding this on being slightly "watery" on the front palate. Otherwise, this is kicking now and has plenty of life and love to give. 5.27.23 — 3 years ago
Sandhi Sanford & Benedict Pinot Noir 2014: Medium-light body. Soft tannins. Medium acidity. Beautiful light red/cranberry color. Delicate perfumed nose with bright red fruits (cherry, strawberry & raspberry). Orange peel. Dried herbs. Earth. Cedar. Smooth easy finish. All in all, I loved, loved, loved this wine. It was drinking perfectly, beautifully balanced and a great representation of the local Sta Rita Hills terroir; felt like I was drinking a Burgundy wine! One of the best Santa Barbara Pinots out there! Happy Sunday Funday! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago

This is hands down my favorite rose to current. It is smooth, clean and fruity, not not overly sweet. A perfect balance and wonderful chilled or room temperature. — 6 years ago
Deep Ruby in colour - quite dense. On the palate opulent red fruits and some blackberry - full bodied, concentrated and latent, with much more to give. Lucky enough to have had a visit and tasting at the winery 4 years ago where we were told, because of climate change they are increasing the Mourvèdre component in the blend because of its better suitability to hot conditions. This has developed to the stage where the 2017 Hommage just released is “nearly all Mourvèdre “ I read recently. Quite earthy with a little tar. One of my favourite producers in a good vintage still with a 10 year future at least. — 6 years ago
Big, bold cab but also jammier than the typical cab. Has Syrah like notes because of it. — 7 years ago
Bold with a smooth finish. Definite notes of berry but not overwhelming. Loved it but can find pinots I love even more for less than half the price. — 9 years ago
Love in a bottle, silky smooth. Sultry, fine grain tannins, hint of smoke beautiful bold black fruits, layered with cocoa, showing barely any age. — 9 years ago
This 2016 has impressed me each time I’ve had it. Now nearly 7 years old it’s complexity is showing and remains fresh and vibrant. Stemmy fresh forest aromas with allspice hints. Every red fruit imaginable but always in whispers never hits you over the head, has Melville’s classic blood orange peel aspect with a clean cool lingering finish that takes you down as many subtle flavor snd aroma corridors as you allow yourself to go. A hint of iodine sea brine tops it all off. Remarkable. Sta Rita is the best USA AVA period. — 3 years ago
Pop and pour yesterday. Notes from day 2 open. On the nose: soft smoke and chalk, apple, lemon, a hint of reduction...lovely nose. On the palate: chalk, sour apple, lemon, loads of wet stone...fantastic acidity and good density...maybe my favorite incarnation of this wine so far... — 5 years ago
Dinner at the Conlin-Rifkin residence. — 5 years ago
Medium gold in the glass. Reticent nose, round malo richness on the palate. Ripe pear and sweet red apple notes.., just enough acid to keep in interesting. Riper that I usually expect from Oregon at 14.2... this is no Chablis! Wine works well with food , but more reminiscent of Sonoma than Willamette. — 6 years ago
Love this wine! Light, and delicious, very coastal and cool. Tannins are poppin’ in this wine. Love 👏🏽 it 👏🏽 might be one of my new favs for easy drinking. Pairs with a light meat dish or a meatier fish. — 7 years ago
Dayum son! Full throttle and then some - but still somehow retains a sense of balance and complexity. Rich, lush, over the top fruit is balanced by an almost ethereal scent of spring flowers and a kiss of oak. Hedonistic in the best sense and another example of why Bevan is king. Please do yourself a favor and track some of this down, even if you aren't a fan of Pinot. Your palate will thank you. — 8 years ago
Quite a ripe mouthful of fruity deliciousness — 10 years ago
A sultry Dundee Hills native. Enjoyed with grilled beef and desert of chocolate covered strawberries ! Glad I have another bottle — 11 years ago
Some Dude
Lip-smacking and delicious! We had this with some shrimp summer rolls, some salmon, and some Wagyu, and it was wonderful with all of them. We also had a 2012 Roederer and a 2016 Brunello and it wasn’t outclassed. There is a tension in this wine: the freshness of the fruit and the tannins and the acidity and the earthy depth all came through with focused clarity. This was a wine with a dynamic sense of place and personality. Thank you Greg Brewer! — a year ago
